I have been viewing the board as guest for the past few months...so after finally having some success on Putah last night I thought I would join the forum and thank the board regulars for the reports/tips they have been posting. I also want to thank forum member JL for the tip on the fork in the creek at Access 5.
I had several good bumps (I was a little slow on the hook-set) indicator nymphing with a #18 PT/#20 Prince at Access 5. The lone fish (12-inch hatchery bow) I brought to hand took a #12 black bugger on the swing out of a riffle into a slack flow. There was some surface action along the bank cuts, but I couldn't figure out what the fish were taking.
I am having some difficutly picking water to fish, sometimes I feel like I am wading through prime holding areas. That said, what should I be looking for along Putah?
Also, sometime during my wanderings around the Creek below Access 5, I dumped four spools of Rio tippet material out of my vest. If someone finds them, please e-mail me.
