Got out to the creek about 6:30 Saturday eve as the sun was leaving the water. there were some baetis and caddis flying around, but no surface activity evident.
Tied on a few nymphs (green micro may fly and green fox poopah).
Got a grab on the swing my second cast, but then nothing until I switched to drys around 8:30 - 30 min before dark.
BIG fish were feeding in a pool as I came up to it, and I happened to tie on the right bug. Second cast yielded a very nice 16" bow, couple casts later a 13" bow, and a few more strikes after that - but by then it was getting to dark to see.
As I was walking out, I nearly got run over by a deer I startled. Kind of freaked me out... as mountain lions have been spotted before at the creek.
Anyway, good fishing.
Ran into Bono just as he hooked into a nice fish. Good talking to you today bono. Dry fly of the day was a #16-ish black bodied caddis. Hard to see, but matched the caddis flying around.
