I finally made it out to the creek last night. I fished for a little over an hour. I was wading under a tree and between bushes above access 1. I managed to hook five fish, but could only land one that went about 14". The fish were hitting a size 20 micro mayfly. The fish were deep. About seven feet down. I was standing in about one foot of water between two bushes. It was pretty crazy trying to land the fish. Every time I tried to turn the fish I would tangle my line or pole. If you guys decide to go fishing be careful. The water is fast and deep. This time of year is a good time to practice your roll casting. The flows have dropped today down to 430. The wading will be easier, but the fish will probably be moving around.
It's good to hear that someone was able to make it out to the creek. Nice report, Otter. I won't be able to make it until the end of the week. I have two midterms this Monday, so this weekend is definitely out. The end of the week is looking pretty good as far as getting to fish. Hopefully, the fish will be cooperative. Has anyone else been able to get out there?

I made it out today (Saturday) and actually saw several other guys at the various access lots; not a crowd, but there were a few out. I was out around 4 to 6 and used a nymph with a .04 BB weight but didn't have much luck. The water seemed HIGH to me, but it was clear.
Putah is new for me, and I haven't quite figured it out yet. Luckily it's close so I can give it a try more often than other places I have had luck.
