Has anyone fished cache creek around rumsey? I hear it is good for smallmouth. I have a new pontoon boat and would love to get into some class 2 with some easy class 3 rapids and catch smallies. Any information would be appreciated. And does anyone know about stonney creek?
I may be passing close enough for a side trip on my way back from Redding end of April. It's a place I wouldn't mind going back to, there's a couple of places I'd like to try that I didn't get a chance to cover before.
ranger1...I've only fished Cache Creek around Woodland. Yes, there are plenty of smallmouth in the creek! Right now the creek is at a level for wet wading...no need for waders as the water isn't that cold. Look for deep pools and bank cover. They're biting on hornbergs, Tap's Bugs, poppers, wooly buggers. Have fun!
Thanks for the info!!! If anyone needs an excuse to go fishing let me know and lets go fishing. I will be out of town for a few weeks and will be back around the 9th, Tight Lines.
