Fished all over the creek today and did not catch a damn thing. Fished up and down, and back again and nothing.

I was thinking the water flows would help, it was good 2 weeks ago at 68 CFS, but nobody was getting anything today. One guy caught 2 on a Hare's Ear early this morning. I threw everything I had - black, olive midges, caddis larva, mayflies, bird's nest, micro mays, not even a strike! There are tons of bugs in the water, the rockworms are getting big, I'd say #14 and there's a lot of them. Lots of small light-colored mayflies, baetis, and even some little yellow stones.

Good luck if you go guys, keep us posted.

Well, at least your report makes me feel better about my skunk today.  I was out for a couple of hours this morning in three different locations and didn't get a single strike.  After the good fishing a couple of weeks ago, I guess Putah has to put us in our place once in a while.  I'll keep on trying and let you know if things pick back up.

Make that 3 of us.  A beautiful day weather-wise but man was the fishing tough.   Could count the number of strikes on one hand.  4 hours and zip.  I agree that is it strange as the flow increase should have helped.  I guess this creek doesn't want to be taken for granted!  But man the weather was nice.

I should have hit snooze and slept in after a long week of work. I hit putah hard today for almost 8 hours and I didnt get a thing, I freakin threw everything i had at em, I hit every likely spot, I started at access #5, working my way upstream, ended up at the upper part of access #3, man i'm tired. The odd thing is there was pretty good insect activity all day long, looked like mostly midges(my entomology is bad).....didnt see a single rise or any fish, talked to one other guy who had the same luck, i was surprised there were very few fisherman on the creek today. I guess you could call today a good ol putah butt kickin .....

Well it looks like we all got skunked After a week or so of awesome fishing, the creek has returned to being a mystery. So many bugs, so many flies casted, so little bites.

I was the guy that caught 2 on a hares ear on Friday the 16th, ended up with 4 for the day. 3 on the hares ear and 1 on a red midge kinda thing that I tie up. Did you hit that hole I talked to you about that had a pig of a rainbow sitting right under the white water? I had that sucker on twice in about 10 minutes and he popped off both times, understandable with a size 20 barbless hook. He would have easily went 18 inches but I'm thinking he could have been even bigger, I got really good looks at him both times. Sorry Friday was tough for everyone but I did ok.

Yeah I tried for a moment, but if you hooked him twice I seriously doubt he would be eating for a while... I've caught quite a few in that spot before...
