Got out on the water today with my buddy around 10:30. Water was super low, making fishing tough. We hooked into a few fish that morning, I caught a couple 10-11 inchers that fell for a #18 black midge larva, and a 16" that ate a #20 Black Beadhead Olive Midge larva. My buddy caught his 3 on a "something small" and even got a riser on a parachute dry, looked like a #14. Kind of a big fly I thought. I lost 4 others during the day, including a pig, that came sailing out of the water and shook the hook free. Looked like a 22" football. Small baetis came off mid morning, as midges throughout the day. Rain didn't bother us, but again the water was ridiculously low. Found a tandem rig with a nice usuable BWO nymph. Good Luck if you head out!
Sounds like not too bad of a febuary day, gotta love the 20+"ers they are masters of the hook shake. Finally back into a winter pattern should be good on the creek. Love fishing there in the rain. Thanks for the VAGUE report. Really appreicate it. Hope others will learn to do the same.
