Never before had I caught two fish on the same cast.   Was throwing a hopper with a caddis dropper, fish rises, i set, and all of a sudden a tug of war commences between a 14" bow and about a 13" pike minnow.  Laughed pretty hard, and brought them both to hand.  As always, released the little bow t...

No New Posts Truckee Report from last week (Preview)
I got out twice last week, Monday on the LT from 3-7pm and Friday on the Truckee from 7-10am. Was on vacation with the family so I had to take what I could get! If the flows don't come up on the LT I would not suggest hitting it. I called my guide buddy when I got there to get the scoop and he said the LT was at 40cfs...

No New Posts Underwater on the Northfork of the American River. (Preview)
Took the camera into the river to see what I could see last weekend, as most people have reported there are far more small mouth bass than trout. However, there were still a good number of trout in the system. I watch a number of fish actively feeding on items in the water column that looked literally invi...

My brother and I just got back from camping on the North feather.  He just turned 18 but was traveling during that so we didn't get to hang out.  He has never flyfished before but has been asking about it finally over the last few months.  I had also been wanting to see this river again after 10 or so years. ...

Alastair and I headed up for a quick hitter to the Truckee area this past weekend.  We fished the Truckee down low near Nevada, at the Loop, on the Little T and hit NF Yuba on the way home. Survived my annual trip to fish the mammoth area. Fished alot of water from crowley to bridgeport. Fishing was really good.
