On a different fourm that I frequent, I have heard nothing but good reviews of the Contour v the gopro.

I bought a camera called a ContourRoam and a headstrap for it.  The camera does 1080p and 720p at 30fp and also does still shots @5 megapixels.  So far so good with the testing.  Easy to connect to a PC too - just plug in a USB cable and the camera appears as another drive.  Video is good, not excellent.  Good enough for fishing footage.

The only thing I don't like about it so far is that you can't change the video or camera mode without hooking it up to the computer.  I am just going to leave it at 720p and see what happens.

I just saw that Amazon is now selling this for $20 cheaper than I bought it:  http://www.amazon.com/ContourROAM-Waterproof-Hands-free-Camcorder-Watersport/dp/B007W02PRM/ref=pd_ys_ir_all_4

Thanks Robert.  Never used a GoPro, but it looks pretty complicated.  The ContourRoam's best feature is the large and simple on/off button.  In this case, simplicity is a virtue.
