Fished today hooked and landed a rainbow 24inches long. It was very skinny and did not fight at all I think it already spawned, it reminded me of a spawned out steelhead. Do the fish typically spawn now or is this one just early.

Where on the Creek did you catch your fish? It's hard to tell where all the beds are. Best guess
they're all over the dang place. . . Anyhow it's good to share where they might be so the rest of us can try to steer clear when possible. Just a thought. By the way, I got an email from Davis
Flyfishers that a cleanup effort on the creek will begin Saturday the 18th at 9:00 am at access #1 along with Napa flyfishers as well. I will be there so I can get all the money for turning in the tons of Bud Light and King Cobra cans. Too bad the power bait containers are worthless. I need money for more Wild Turkey.

I caught him in a deep pool near acess 2. I didnt see any reds yet thats why i was suprised at the fishes condition. Thats great that you are picking up the creek its pretty ridicolous in some areas.

This is usually too early for putahs fish to spawn(at least the rainbows)but maybe because of the extra low flows extra early this one got a head start or its just an older fish. Thanks to all for helping out on the clean-up yesterday,I didnt even know it happened untill after the fact.Myself and my two boys always attend as many of these as possible.More clean-ups should be in the coming months and I will hopefully find out about these before they happen.

I never hear about these clean-ups until after they take place?  Where do I need to watch for this info?

In years past these have been announced on this site, but apparently Greg was not notified of it.  It was publicized by the Davis Flyfishers in our newsletter.  Next year I will be sure to post that info here as well.
