my flyline broke can I repair it?

Went into my closet and found that my cat had chewed and snapped my flyline on both of my rods. I guess thats what I get for being lazy and not putting them away. They are both wf 6 floating lines and are are cut about 4 feet from where the leader attaches. Question is this repairable or do I need to but new fly line. Im mad because I just bought one of them 3 months ago. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

If your line is cut 4 feet from the end, you may just want to cut it off and put on a new butt section.  I don't think this will affect the castability of the line.  Another alternative, if the cut isn't too long or jagged, is to put some pliobond on the cut.  Make sure that you put pliobond around the entire fly line.  Also, don't use so much pliobond that you put a hump in the line, just enough to smoothe the cut.  A while back, I found a severe cut in my fly line about 15 feet from the end.  I didn't want to shell out another $60 for a new line since my line was less than a year old.  I tried the pliobond repair and the line seems to be working fine.

If you use the pliobond, just make sure that you shake the bottle REALLY well.  The components of pliobond seem to separate when it sits for a while.
