I am planning a upcoming weekend trip to the upper Rouge and was wondering if anyone would like to come along. There is a place to camp right on the river a few miles downstream of the dam. I've talked to guys who have been up there and they report fishing is excellent right now with multiple hook-ups each session. Fish in the 6-12lb range, could be fun until things pick-up here.
The date is still open, I try to leave any friday morning and be at the campground around 4-5pm. It takes 6hrs to drive with wife and kids in tow, but I could probably get there much quicker. I ususally fish 'til mid-day Sunday and come home that evening. I have since learned that the Umpqua is not very much further. Even better fishing there, but I think it closes soon.
