I was out that creek last saterday with a friend of mine, his first trip out on the creek.  Did pretty well, 6 landed, from 8 in to 16 in all natives, and countless hook ups and strikes.  Anyway, as we were walking above access 2 and later, above the capground by the damn, we both decided that taking a canoe out along the quiet stretches would be productive.  Has anyone tried it?  How did it go?

Yes fishing the slower areas of the creek can be productive and you can fish these areas like a lake I even use an intermediate line in these areas at times. You really have to be carefull though to keep from getting into some of the fast water areas because canoes in these areas can be dangerous and even fatal.
