Today was a pretty good day on the creek. I hooked eleven and landed three. Four of the fish hooked were 20"+ bruisers. I was only able to land one of these, a 21" rainbow. He took a #16 caddis pupa. One of the fish that got away was about 24". He jumped twice, and I had him six feet from the net when he bolted again and came unbuttoned. The hot flies of the day were caddis pupae and small mayfly imitations. I used a few different patterns and they all seemed to work. Color didn't seem to be an issue, as long as the flies were the size that the fish were looking for:#16 for caddis and #20 for mayflies.

Yesterday I fished near the bridge. I fished a couple of different holes upstream and downstream of the bridge. Nice fish were were hooked in a couple of different holes. I also fished near access #2. I saw a couple of monsters, but couldn't get any takers. Lately I've seen BIG fish in lots of places on the creek. It seems that they're coming out of hiding to fatten up before the spawn. I haven't seen this many fish of this size in a long time.
