Another beautiful evening on the creek. My favorite new hole has been producing on the dry/dropper combination. Caught 5 or 6 decent fish - all wild (biggest 14 inches) on the dropper and 2 or 3 more on the dry, including a nice football right at dark.
E/C caddis with a midge pupa dropper was producing, and I did do some tight line nymphing with a green/yellow rockworm pattern (looks like a caddis larvae) and a small mayfly pattern. Got two nice fish on the rockworm.
All fish caught between 6:00 PM and dark.
Very sporadic rises in this pool and no other rises that I could see anywhere - despite a decent mayfly hatch (tiny little blue wings and some tiny creamy mayflies) and a few caddis.
I love the dry dropper though... psyched it's producing. It's a hell of a lot better than cleaning algae ridden flies every other cast - even if it does result in fewer fish.
