I've noticed that there are quite a few waterboatmen and backswimmers in Lake Solano and the slower areas on the creek.  Does anyone know of any good patterns to imitate them?  I'm sure the fish would tear 'em up.

A few years ago in the Summer waterboatmen were a hot pattern in Lake Solano. I just googled "waterboatmen fly" and had way too many hits to post. Some very good looking patterns.

I once snorkled Lk solano and saw billions and billions of water boatmen and thousands of stickle back baitfish, both of which are in the slower areas of Putah creek itself.I also surveyed the entire length of Lk Solano with a pull net and canoe for mud snails with the same results except this time (about 1 year ago) I had quite a few mud snails in the mix.I have stomach sampled fish through-out Putah and rarely seen waterboatmen, although about 3 years ago hooked a massive Brown in the summer time in Lk Solano float tubing with a waterboatman pattern I created.

I'm going to try Lake Solano this week, so I guess I'll have to look more into that.  Thanks Lightfoot.
