It's that time of the year when my thoughts turn to steelhead. I'm trying to set up a trip with my son to hire a guide and float the lower Sacto for one day, and then go over to the Trinity. Anyone been up there lately, or planning a trip? I'm wondering if smoke is still choaking the valleys of the Trinity and if fish have moved into the upper system.
Did you ever make it up that way? The weather flood gates are about to open, rivers might be out of commission for awhile but it should bring in a ton of fish.
