This qualifies as a rant, but I'm looking for suggestions. I've been trout fishing for a long time and no matter what I do my leader material gets tangled. I've tried any number of leader material holders and at some point my leader material turned into a tangled mess. Are any of you using anything that keeps your leader material secure and knotless? I notice that Amazon has a foam board material (see link below). Anyone tried it? Suggestions from anyone with a solution!
Rio makes foam rings. I just started to use them and I am very happy with the results. Now I can Have three ready rigged leaders in my pocket. It saves a lot of time when I lose a rig, or want to change flies.
I think he talking about foam rings that are the same size as the spool that most tippet comes on they also have a piece of foam about 4 or 5 inch foam with slots at both ends that you can rap leader tippet and flies already rigged
Its my tippet/leader holder hanging on my vest with spools of leader/tippet material that tangles. I posted on another site also. I am going to start keeping the spools inside my vest. This defeats the purpose of having ready access, but what good is ready access when I'm busy untying tangles.
