Parked under the bridge on the near side. I wondered that I didn't see any cars, but I soon learned why. The trail down to the water disappeared after a 100 yards or so. The vegetation was really thick so the trail down went right to the water's edge, and soon enough, right into the water. Real pain in the ass stuff. And the fishing provided me with 5 hours of valuable casting practice, as I couldn't buy a fish. Only one or two jumpers (not risers). The water was clear as gin and true to form, the runoff once again altered the bottom of the river a lot from just this past winter. There was evidence of Golden Stones that had hatched, but I only saw one live one. The hatch must have been a couple of weeks ago. I recommend parking on the far side and walking down,as the water looks better for wading there.
Reports from other fishermen say that there are no bugs in the water. Fish that have been caught are small and skinny. I hope things change soon as Lower Yuba is my alternative to fishing Putah during spawning season.
