Greetings to all: we have two upcoming volunteer events in early September where we can use your assistance. The first is our fundraiser event being sponsored and put on by Fly Fishers of Davis and Orvis:

September 9, 2017: Orvis Down The Hatch Film Festival at the Veterans Memorial Theater 213 E. 14^th St., Davis. Volunteers are needed to help with Festival set up before and take down at the end of the event, selling tickets, drink sales, kid’s activities and games. If you are attending the festival, this is an additional opportunity to give back to the Creek and the fishery. The sign-up list is at the link immediately below:

The second volunteer opportunity is the annual Coastal Commission Cleanup day on September 16, 2017. This is an annual event that we have participated in for the past eight years. Again this year, we will be partnering with Fly Fishers of Davis to clean the inter-dam reach between Fishing Access 5 and Monticello Dam. We need 20-30 volunteers to spread out over the reach in small teams to collect trash and recyclables. The sign-up sheet for this event is at the link below:

FFD will be providing a lunch at noon at Fishing Access 3. This event is always a chance to meet other conservation minded individuals, make new friends, and share notes on how to fish the Creek.
