I saw somebody spey casting yesterday right above the fork at #5... Is that ever a good method for PC?? I wonder if that person had success. On another note, a man I was fishing with caught this young fish (still had parr marks) even with the high flow. Get out there! I was surprised by how chunky the fish was even with parr marks, which is a good sign about the bug life. I got skunked and I'm thinking that the larger fish just move so deep when the flows are that high. Praying that mother nature cooperates before the flows get turned up significantly! The water lower down near #4 and 5 was surprisingly clear and free of silt, but it was still rough and muddy on some of the upper stretches.
I've used my Switch rod there. Swinging works and those rods allow you to get way out. I also use a single hand Spey setup on the creek. You'd be amazed the places that are accessible with that setup.
Thanks for the report. I haven't been out on the river since December. I think I'll give it try early next week. Looks like the weather will hold and will stay clear for a while. Sounds like access 4 and 5 should be the first to try.
