Put on my wading boots and went down to the water to have a look. Water was at about 2500cfs but the trails were passable. Where the creek turns towards the back of the island at .5 there is a large deposit of debris and the ground at the turn has a lot of debris abd has pretty much been denuded of the blackberry bushes. The trail up to the parking lot is pretty swampy, but should dry out. The side channel to the "beaver dam" on the frontside of the island is ripping and the dam is history, although when the water drops to regular levels there could be something there, but I doubt it. Up at access 3 the water has receded from the land and there are tons and tons of mud that were deposited there, trapped by the vegetation, which, by the way has been stripped of most of the lower leaves. The mud is present all the way up to as far as I could go, which was where that big (Cottonwood) tree hangs over the water at the place that I have heard called "three rocks", where some really nice guy showed me how to cross. Then I went up to the bridge. Not much to report as it was blasting through there, and the area before deer sign, which I really want to see as there was so much mud there was also still covered. I looked in every pool of standing water that I could find at .3 and fortunately didn't see any trapped fish. I did put a big old crawdad back ear a pool near the bank. The water clar at the bridge was about 20 inches or so. As for the bad, a part of the bank at the spawning bed at .3 is collapsing and is very dangerous to the unwary visitors. I had to warn a family to stay away. I'm gonna go back when it drops below 1000cfs. Tight lines, and release 'em safel!
the photos; 1 is a pano at the turn. You can see the debris 2 is the trail
up to .5 the others were from .3 mud way on up away from
the creek and the trail
