Does anybody know this guy? I drove up and there he was, sitting on the bank and stressing out some poor TAILHOOKED fish by letting it sit in the current until he could get it in. The kid who wet wades and uses that is old bamboo rod said that he had already talked to him so I didn't see the point in engagement as he knew well where he was .

What is he doing? I don't really see anything criminal from your creepy photos.

Although yesterday I saw a couple of guys fishing by the resort with a bucket of live worms and treble hook. I told them the rules and walked them to read the special rules angling sign. I also mentioned fish and game officers come by and check lines often. Even though I haven't seen one in two years and I fish every week. Where's the tax money going, I know the roads aren't getting fixed!

He was wading smack in the middle of what is possibly the ONLY viable spawning area on the creek, at access no.3 (due to the mud) and fishing for spawning trout in 8 inches of water, which most likely explains the tail hook job. You could hit fish with a rock in water that skinny. Criminal? no. unethical? Very.

In your pictures he is clearly seated on a large boulder, among a few other large boulders on the bank, not wading in the middle.

Did you see the hook snagged in the tail?

That is not me.

I'm just pointing out that your photos contradict your statement. I think this act of yours is very cowardly. You should have confronted him face to face, in the moment; if he was in fact doing what you say, but not what the photos show.

Here is the California Fish and Game hot tip number:

You can text or call with your concerns as a wtiness.

It is a much safer and effective route.

I don't come here to be trolled . As for cowardly , well, go f$&@ yourself buddy. I already said that he had been spoken to. The pictures were when he sat down after landing it . In the future, I would appriciate it if you stayed off of anything I post. And uh , yes I did see the hook right in the middle of the tail.

The rod is clearly bent while he is sitting on the rock in your photos.

And you said some one else talked to him.

I'm simply pointing out the flaws in your egregious inconsistency.

Public shaming and libel defamation is a far worse crime than foul hooking a fish; neither of which I condone.

If you have an issue with this persons actions then report him to the DFG. Stop trying to witch hunt him like a damn Clinton supporter.

Good on you sir for reporting this type of scum behavior. Public shaming works. The creek "eventually" will only be open during general trout season, as says the word on the street that is. Also total sidebar... if your sitting on a rock while fly fishing you might want to take some lessons or maybe get some exercise, and step up that cardio game a little. Maybe do some jumping jacks for cheeto jesus. Oh and for sure lay off them carbs. Whew boy... somebody got some work to do. I kid folks, its only jokes.. Well except for fishing spawning redds, that just makes you a dick. Namaste peeps!

It's not illegal to fish redds. Nothing would've been done. Only thing he might have been cited for is barbed hooks, no fishing license, or if you got video of him trying to snag fish on purpose. The responses about contacting DFG wouldn't have helped at all. Best thing to do is what you did in my book. Let people know that he was confronted about the spawners and if he still chooses to fish them then show the poor fish etiquette. Taking a pic of his car was too far though. PC needs to be closed for spawning season.

All I'm pointing out is the photos don't show what he is claiming. He originally had a license plate posted too. If the photos showed the guy standing in the middle, with a snagged fish dangling in the air, then wrestling it in the mud, then I'd be happy for blasting the guy. But the photos don't show anything.

I agree. The pics don't show much. They aren't diffinitive about fishing spawners. Though that area is where spawners got to. Is what it is. Creek needs to be closed so there's no speculation or arguments.

By the time I got my camera out of my car the guy had sat down, and yes the fish was still on. I have no good reason to come on here and print something that is a lie. I detest your attempts to impugn my character and I have asked you to stay off of my posts. Yet you persist. So I will say it again; Go away. I don't know you and I am sure by now that I don't like you. Go over to 4chan if you want to flame. They can give it back better than I for the simple reason that I don't WANT to. If you ever bother me again on this forum I will ask the moderator to have you removed for harassment. So disengage.

P.S. I removed the picture of the licence plate as it was inappropriate . I will do the same with the car as soon as the admin. gets in touch

I haven't done any harassment. This is an open forum.

Look at your language used in previous posts and look at mine. You stepped out of line, not me.

Mudhen, how can you post something in a public forum that is specifically made to allow others to express their opinion just like you have done in your posts then say for someone not to post on "your" posting? Until the DFG changes the rules for PC he has every right to fish there without being harassed if he is staying within the law.

Nate, I believe he reacted to you calling his pictures creepy and him a coward...though his reaction seems a bit over the top.

It's not about having every right to fish Putah Creek, it's about sportsmanship and ethical behavior during the time of spawning. Two social qualities the person in the pictures clearly does not posses.

Only after he accused me. Nonetheless I shouldn't have stooped as low.

My apologies!

Internet bullying is real and dangerous. Posting pictures of someone and their license plate and vehicle and making accusations that can't be confirmed is unethical in my opinion.

Not all white ford trucks are driven by snaggers on PC😄

I have a funky white 2wd ranger with a campershell, and definitely dont want to be mistaken for someone and have my truck vandalized.

Absolutely - not all people who drive white trucks are snaggers.  BUT all snaggers appear to drive white trucks... Just an observation.

I DO NOT CONDONE VIGILANTEISM ON THE CREEK - PLEASE DON'T MESS WITH PEOPLE'S VEHICLES (especially my 17 year old BMW).

Peace.
