Gordon Chapple loved to fish Putah Creek and helped to organize Putah Creek Trout. He was one of the most energetic enthusiastic members of the newly-formed PCT. Gordon and his wife Kathy died tragically in a flash flood while hiking with family in Utah in September 2008. In addition to his wonderful children and beautiful photographs, we are hopeful that a restored Putah Creek with a blue-ribbon wild rainbow trout fishery will be among his many legacies.
Right before Gordon's death I became friendly with him and he shared with me his personal fly tying recipes for his favorite and most successful flies for Putah Creek.
I think Gordon would approve of my sharing his fly tying recipes, so they are listed below in PDF format.
