Check out Lance Gray's Yuba pontoon clinic. It was great. It was relatively tame water, just pay attention! Christopher Streetman runs a shuttle service for that stretch. You can contact him at 1 (530) 639-2521.

I've done that float a few times in my pontoon boat (Fish Cat Scout) and it's a blast. If you are going by yourself there's a shuttle services run by Christopher Streetman (530) 639-2521. He's a very nice guy who can pick you up at Sycamore or Hammonds and take you back up to the bridge for $25.
The float takes a long time - I think it's around 7 hrs. You have to pace yourself so that you're back in time! It's definitely worth it as you get to access a lot of new water. The fishing should be great right now.
With the water high, however, you might want to just put up your fly rods and have fun whitewater rafting.
