Has anybody fished the Lower Yuba recently? Water flow looks good for wading across and I'm planning to get an early start Thursday and fish through the  morning till it gets too hot to fish. Am I wasting time by going? Any recommendations for nymphs or dries? I just have to get out with my fly rod before I commit a sin of some sort.

Incidentally, I fished the Stanislaus at Kennedy Meadows 2 weeks ago and caught many rainbows (mostly hatchery fish) and a few brown on dry flies.  Unfortunately it's an overnighter for me living in the Bay Area, otherwise that would be a good choice.

Thanks

Update on the Yuba trip. Got there at 7:30 am. No fish, no takes, no sign of fish feeding on surface or just below. It was nice to be on the river, especially during the morning hours, but some fish need to be added to the scene to make the drive from Vallejo worthwhile.
