I am new to fishing the Putah and have found good success, from the first day I had tried.   I have fared better at other rivers, however, I have been told catching 4-6 fish a day on the Putah is extremely successful.

Here is my most recent report..

Have had success with PT, Copper John (Red),RS2 Olive and Gray #20, Brassie #22, Barrs Emerger Tan and Olive#20-22, WD40 #22.

I have found more immediate success with a longer leader, 5 to 6x tippet (Fluro)

Hope this helps get a head start on your next outing.   Sunny skies and full moon ahead!

Hi Rob,
Thanks for the report, ill be out on the creek Sunday so I'll check back in after I go. Another pattern I love to use at puta is zebra midges. Easy to tie and tons of varriations. My favorie is a black bead zebra midge with green mylar under the silver wire. I'll throw that and a wd40 almost exclusivly! Also done pretty well swinging small caddis in orange or olive as an attractor.

Not looking for specific spots because I have my own, but where did you fish? The upper or lower half?

Upper,  Still new to the area and will venture further down.  Thanks again for the info about the Zebra midges.   Will give it a shot if I can get out there soon.
