Stumbled on fresh mountain lion deer kill at access five today. I know these warnings pop up on this forum periodically, so here's this season's: be careful. They are out there.

Scared the absolute crap out of me to see fresh deer head just sitting in brush. That's two big cats in one month — had a bobcat jump out of some brush in front of me at the Yuba. Scared the living daylights out of me, but he ran off really fast.

Flows are up a lot, fishing is slow. Had two on SJW. I imagine lack of rain means higher ag flow demand, even this time of year. Could be bad for redds though?

You found just the head? Sounds like a poacher to me. Never heard of a mountain lion decapitating its victims.

Not saying there are no lions out there, plenty of evidence (and pics on this website?), but you likely don't want to stroll up on a poacher mid-act either.

Keep your heads up out there!

Its not a bob cat , or a mountain lion `` Its Bigfoot, I,ve see him . About four months ago I was fishing the back of the island and I hear this awful sound it was really scary so im heading back to my car and there he was . about forty yards south of me heading for cover . I will never fish alone back there again .

And I have the pictures to prove it ``
