I think the more you start to fly fish the more you will begin to appreciate it. I love to spin cast whenever I go to a lake or big body of water, but I love to fly fish in the current. My favorite thing about fly fishing is the fight with the fish. It is so much more fun, but is is much more difficult. There are so many things to focus on, gotta keep tenson on the line so the hook dosent slip out, gotta have good knots and make sure not to muscle the fish to much because the line can snap , you have to have to actually set the hook at any infication of a strike sometimes if you dont set you'll feel the inital headshake and see the fish rise but the hook slips out almost immediatly and the fish is gone. But all o this makes it so much more rewarding when you can finally bring in the fish. Everytime I catch a fish on the fly I know its not luck, it os 100 percent skill. Knowing where to be, when to be there, what fly to use, what depth to be at, where in the current to cast...
If you want to do some more fly fishin let me know Im always happy to fish putah and always happy to share some fishing experiences.
