I'm going to go stand on the flooded banks of Putah and drowned a few nyphms tomorrow, any takers. I just gotta go. Have I lost my mind? Am I pushing it? I know I should have someone go with me...So???? Anyone?
Flows have really started to come down (noticible crossing Putah at I-80 today) though the charts still show ~~1900cfs. I'd head as far up as possible and perhaps try something a little bigger than what your'e used to.
Must be nice to be able to fish on Fridays.

I'm heading up that way this afternoon myself. I've got access to the campground there. I was up there last Friday but the creek was still off color. I did see several large fish trying to go up the small creek just across from the campground. There was quite a bit of clear water still coming in there. I'm not sure what effect these flows had on the gravel bar there, but nearly all of the large boulders that were in that creek have been rolled out into the main stream bed of Putah. Guys headed up closer to the dam this spring will have to find a new trail. The old crossing is a vertical drop of about 14 feet, with nothing substantial to use for leverage.
Went fishing with JT on Friday. Great guy to fish with. Water was still real high, very few fishable spots, JT managed to catch a 16" and a 19", hey I even got to net his big one, so at least I got to touch a fish. Hiked around some spots I have not been before, enjoyed some fishing company and some knowledge, hope to go out again soon.
I fished all three days this weekend at various spots along Putah. There was no activity until right at 5 PM all three days. Caught and photo'd a total of five fish, 14-21" long. Each fish took a different fly.
