Made another one day run to the Yuba last Thursday.  We went in at the bridge and hoofed all the way up to the narrows.  There are many, many trout doing their spawning thing up there right now.  It was a good day, cloud cover, but warm.  There were PMD's, midges and Mayflies coming off, with the sporadic March Brown as well.  Saw only a couple of Skwala's.

There was reasonable top action going on in a few key spots. We landed a resonable number of fish, most were a bit on the small side for the Yuba, 11"-13" fish, with a few larger ones sprinkled in.  Several flies worked out pretty well, including my old Lambroughton Pheasant Tail dry which was a good March Brown imitation it turned out.

Luckily, ran into 0 rattlesnakes during the day.  However, as we were leaving the river at the endof the day, I look back up the river and see a fire on the south side of the river about 1/4 mile east from the bridge.  The fire begins to grow, and I notice it is actually on the rocks?  I walk back about 50 yards and notice it is a car, upside down on the rocks, almost in the river.  We go ahead and call it in, figuring it is a stolen car that was dumped. All kinds of emergency equipment rolls to the scene.  On the way home, we get a call from Yuba County Sherriff's Deputy.  Turns out the car went over the side with someone in the car, who did not survive.  Kind of put life in perspective for the day.  Enjoy each day we've got.
