I was fishing a spot in the sierra few weeks ago, Its a place that has always been open year around. I was informed by a game warden that the regs. have changed for 2013 and it is now under the general trout regs. He was cool and said he's not enforcing it until signs are posted, and we were aloud to continue to fish for the weekend. So the point is I guess it would be a good idea to periodilly recheck the regs. I don't think I've looked at em in 5 years.
Good point Shon. I had a similar experience this year but in the reverse. I started fishing a river about 5 years ago that had a huge chunk of it closed year around. I recently learned that they section opened for a short season 3 years ago. Had I checked the regs more often I would have learned about this and been exploring it years ago.
