The March 15th event was a real success for the group and Canyon Creek resort as well. The venue was perfect, the fly tiers enjoyed the event quite a bit, our name got out even further and we were able to decrease the amount of raffle prizes that Steve Karr has been dragging around.
It was great to socialize and see some old faces once again. Some os us stayed far too long down at the Preserve afterwords, furthering the bonds of friendship. l Of course the fish stories are always fun to hear again, especially the one about the incarnation of Shawn AKA Dr. Bombay, which always has multiple requests to be retold once again.
Fly fishing is a small world, that's for sure. I ran into a teacher who was at my high school during those good old years (1970's), as well as one of the tiers who I had initially met 6 years ago in Montana when we were both staying at the same lodge at the same time!
Last but not least we need to extend our gratitude to Steve Karr for being the point person for the event, Jordan for giving casting lessons, Sarah for being the greeter/ ticket seller and all the guys who pushed tables around and everyone who took time out and attended the event.
A big thanks to all that showed up and or participated in making this event a success , I worked till 1 pm and simply was a little tired from washing dishes to drive up just to arrive as things where winding down but many thanks too all that participated and donated Sweeneys, greg , Ryan and all the rest Oh ya whats thats guys name something Karr LOL And last but not Steve K. Sarah had a lot of fun I personally Thank everyone for that Thanks Guys , Richard From Napa .
I had a great time too. I was impressed with all the fly tiers, especially the Softex guy. Man, those looked like real stoneflies stuck on pins! It was also great to talk to him about salt water flies since I've been tying them for a trip to Costa Rica next month.
Many thanks to Steve and everyone involved in the event - and very importantly, the attendees. It seems to me that a lot of people are supporting the positive evolution of Putah Creek.

Thanks to all that helped with the event. The tyers were very pleased at the turnout and interest of our attendees. Special thanks go to Sarah who womaned the ticket sales and payments table and Ed, who took over the set up of dozens of sale items and silent auction displays. Alethea and Bob did a great job with the raffles, Mark guided a number of helpers in laying out the tying areas. And special thanks to Dave McCantts who organized the 14 tyers and to the tyers themselves for so generously donated their time and flies. The same thanks go to our own PCT team of tyers who each donated 12 flies to make up a dozen sets of "PC Hot Flies" that sold like hot cakes! Xnjb707X (Nic) is the winner of the tyers set drawing, so PM me your address Nic.
The following were sponsors of and contributors to the event
I am happy to keep working with you on the casting. The nice thing about trout fishing is that you do not have to be successful. Although it does help by keeping your flies out of the trees and having your set ups turn to birds nests.
It was great being involved with this event. Thank you for having me out there!
A big thanks to all who volunteered and all who attended!! Saw some really great fly tying! Lots of people out there getting lessons on casting and technique from Berryessie!
