Think it's a good idea but appears this site is pretty dead in terms of reports. I think I understand the reasons for this, people are very protective of the creek (and rightly so), as a result it doesn't seem to be popular to post on success (or as per my last post lack of it).
Again, I understand it's different from say Kienes forum that has a ton of daily posts because people post on lots of subejcts and different waters and there's less need to "protect" one, fragile water like Putah. I've been really impressed with lack of garbage in the creek and it's clear people are really taking time and effort to support the fishery.
I think sharing information and being helpful are healthy human qualities. However, with Putah Creek it is difficult to share (particularly good days) because of all the hours that many of us have had to put in to consistently catch fish there. For me it took years to map out many of the good spots, great flies and time of day/year to fish. Plus, Putah is the closest "Blue Ribbon" trout stream to the bay area so everyone and his brother fish there. At one point I read (I think in California Fly Fisher) that Putah was the most fished water west of the Mississippi per mile. No wonder everyone tends to protect their secrets.
That said here's a report: I was out there yesterday in the beautiful weather. Hooked up maybe 12 fish and landed 7. 3 of them were good - 14, 15 and 18 and the rest were shakers. Not much in the way of hatches and most fish hooked on tiny midge patterns. I usually don't fish at Putah this time of year so it was a lot of high water exploration.
I believe our agreed upon rules for fishing reports are not to say where we fished and what patterns we used: basically we omit the most important pieces of information!

I caught an 8 inch crayfish and a 6 inch rainbow for 6 hours of fishing on Saturday. 2 years of fishing it and I still haven't figured this damn creek out!

Was that you Viking floating down the creek the other day? I saw this guy in a float tube that floated from the bridge to somewhere past access 3. He was catching fish on streamers...
I wish. No, haven't fished Putah since the start of the spawn. Been hitting the lower Stan. Speaking of streamers though, the hole at the base of the dam has a lot of fish in it and the next time I go, I'm going to bring a sink tip and some streamers and see who wants to play.
