I Fished just below powerhouse #4 july of 2010 and did good < went back about a year later and found the river so swollen  with so much water I wanted to cry 5 hours of driving. Napa to Big Bend.  We left drove till I found cel service called Sarah and got her to look up a rought to the truckee  !!!!  700 miles round trip.  we spent the night in truckee  but damm . I still want to fish  the pit again . I have heard that it fishes well near the lodge ? I forget the name its around power house #2 or #3   anyone have any advice besides below powerhouse #near big Bend ?   <@)))))>< 

Power house 2 or #3   ??   <@))))><    I got to find them first ?

Richard, check out the Pit #3 area. That is usually the most consistent. The flows could be high though.

Gotta always check flows before heading out anywhere. I think you can go back and see the flow for the day you fished, then establish that as a base line for when the river is fishable. Should be able to do that on dreamflows.

When I drive that far I usually do a loop.  Fish the Pit, drive to the upper Sac, go over to the McCloud, and sometimes drive to the upper Klamath.  It's a good idea to check water flows especially in high rain years.
