Have been fishing quite a bit the last few weeks, let me rephrase that,I have been watching my clients fish quite a bit the last few weeks! And the fishing has been great with numerous fish in the 20" range a couple 23"-24" landed and a healthy fat and fiesty 28" bruiser was brought to net near Canyon Creek Resort last Saturday afternoon. The hot flies have been ranging from #20 micro mayfly variation to orange glo bugs,to a  size #20 black PT to even #10 birds nest brown color.Every day has been different but the result has been the same, alot of big fish hooked up and a fair amount landed.I have some nice pictures of happy people posing with big fish that I'll post on this site soon.

Hey Greg, I just had one of the greatest days of fishing I have ever had.  The size of all the fish landed today were just unbelievable - one of them was so big that I'm not sure I'll ever be able to top it in this lifetime (as far as landlockeds go).  But besides that, I had a few questions about how to treat the spawners.  In some of your earlier posts you said that we should take it easy on these spawning fish, does that mean that I should refrain from catching them? or should I just end the fight as quickly as possible and handle them properly?....and I'm guessing the spawning females are these pigs that have made their way up from salano?  Basically, after catching so many huge fish today, I kind of feel like i'm exploiting their situation and want to make sure that I am not endangering anything for the future.  If it's not to much trouble for you, could you please give me any additional info on the best ways to preserve the spawn at putah...Thanks for the help.

In case anyone was wondering--flies of the day were definately 18-20, olive wd-40's and zebra's, they ate them up at almost every cast.
