Honestly both of you guys have no idea what a Haiku is...
It is 3-5-3 in syllables or 5-7-5

It should go something like this
Cast the fly
Hook the big ass fish
Run like hell!

Never fished the McCloud, hear great things though. Glad you got into some fish.

 

On a related note, you have inspired me to attempt a haiku from my own expedition this morning.  Here it goes.

 

 

Dinglebarry dangling

Its cold and firm

Toilet paper hanging

I wipe and it wiggles around like a worm

I finally capture it

I flush

It swirls a thousand swirls 

Dinglebarry dangles no more
