Went fishing on the lower stan today as I was walking up to the dam below Lake Tulloch on the gravel trail next to the canal I noticed that there was no water in the canal. Its usually pretty full depending on the time of year. There were to Long puddles about 6 inches deep with about 150 nice sized trout in there stranded! They were swimming around in circles looking for a way out. I think they have a few days left before the water is gone or an animal or birds gets them. The problem is there is no way down unless somewhere were to bring a ladder and a net. You would also need a bucket full of water to transport them to the main river. There other problem would be if the dam operator opened up the valve for water to go in the canal while you are in their. That would not end well. Any thoughts on what to do to save these fish?
In case you havent been there and you want to try and help these fish they are about 200 yards down from the dam in the canal. BTW the fishing was average at best
