Fished for a few hours Sunday. Found a large pod of consistently rising fish. They were almost impossible to get to but I tricked one into taking a skated #16 tan elk hair caddis. Got another on a green wolly bugger just after it hit the water. That surprised me. Best part of the evening was finding a half dozen flies in a branch. A nice collection of go to flies for the creek. :)
Yes, I submitted a survey.

I must be getting a rep as a nagger about surveys-whatever it takes. The reports have been showing excellent success rates, especially small to medium-sized fish, so thats your and the fishes reward.
I saw a redd the other day, saw two fish swim off together away from it. Hope it stays wet when the flows go down not sure it will. Earliest I've ever seen a redd except for back when there where browns.?
Cliff, I wonder if we were seeing the same fish in the same spot? I would like to post where she was so that people can leave this area alone. Or does that put a target on her back?
I saw a pair of early spawners last year around the first week of November which I thought was pretty early, but I think we are noticing them earlier just because we are all more aware and we know what to look for. And that the spawn as been a key topic around this time of year for about the past 4 years or so.
