I'm always looking for ways to make my fishing easier, especially tying on flies. Last year, while wrapping my outdoor water pipes with foam, I hit on tying pairs of flies to tippet at home, then wrapping the set around the foam wrap and holding the "snells" in place with a rubber band. In the latest issue of Sierra Fisherman, Bill Forward illustrates the apparatus on page 8 (you can view on the website). Use a 2.5" dia. X 4" piece of gray pipe wrap foam. Tuck the tag end of the fly set up under a rubber band and wrap the tippet/flies tightly, sticking the point of each into the foam. Put several set ups on the same piece; two pieces fit into a ziploc sandwich bag. Reduces my poor vision guided set up time by about 90%.
