PCT is sponsoring its annual event in coordination with the Coastal Commissions International Clean Up day Putah Creek Council is again handling sign ups at their Website: www.putahcreekcouncil.org
On their home page, look for "Upcoming Events" and the 9/15 listing near the bottom. Click on Calif. coast and creek clean up and you'll move to the site listing. Click on Interdam reach and you are there. You'll find the information below. I would add that waders are not needed for 90% of the stretch and only if you go to the backside of Access 5
If coming, please preregister so we know how many to feed and water afterward.
"Join local volunteers for a morning of picking up trash along the interdam reach of Putah Creek. This site is sponsored by Putah Creek Trout. Please call Steve Karr with any questions: 530-753-8885
Please arrive at Fishing Access 5by 9 AM to sign in, get supplies, and get an orientation to the event.
Please remember to bring your water bottle. Jugs of water will be available to refill your personal bottle.
This site is suitable for those under 12 years of age with adult supervision.
Putah Creek Trout will provide a complimentary BBQ lunch at Fishing Access 3 for volunteers.
Please bring waders if you have them, but keep in mind that Putah Creek harbors the invasive New Zealand mudsnail, and proper wader/ boot drying is required to be sure you don't spead this snail.
Squashing grapes in Spain again.... but wish I was there!!!

Not squishing grapes but I do have to run all over the county checking vineyards to see when I am squishing. Have a good day guys and gals wish I could join you.Â
The warden Tim is a good dude. Lahontan and I met him when we went fishing after the last little PCT gathering. Sorry I couldn't make it to this one but when is the next creek cleanup? Putah has more salad than the Olive garden right now.

Thanks guys. We had 14volunteers, majority PCT members. Thanks Mitch, Alan, Karl for coming from East Bay; Mike from Napa; Chris from Fairfield, Chris and Finn, Duncan, Dan, from Davis; Karl and Cliff from South Bay; Clay and Sandra from Winters, Clay from Sebastopol. 130 lbs of trash, 80 lbs recyclables, and one possibly poached deer-I'll let Cliff tell the story.
Best news: little in the way of bait containers. Maybe they are carrying the evidence out.
By the way, found out Tim Bolin (or Bolen) is our new area warden.
Tim's last name is Bolla, we went to high school together in Winters and he is a great person. I am lucky to have his cell phone number in my phone in case I run into any problems on the creek.
Sorry I could not make it to the clean up. I was in Tahoe doing the cleanup on the Truckee. We covered a lot of ground in the Glenshire and Hirschdale areas and did not come up with a ton of trash which we were pleased to see.
JR-thanks for the correction on Tim's last name. Solano ranger Sean M called him about the deer killing. Stopping in at Lake Solano is quicker than CAl-Tip for a response to illegal activity.

If you want to help get rid of salad then the spawning bed rake workparty in November would be a perfect match.

Sorry I couldn't make it, but thank you to everyone who committed their time and effort to improving the creek. I get there maybe once a year, but when I do I'm always aware that there are many people from this board and elsewhere who contribute to make the creek a better fishery.
