I'm a beginning fly fisher, and brand new to Putah Creek. I've read through the forums a bit, including the posts on ettiquette, the angler surveys, etc so I just wanted to say hello and ask if anyone had some friendly advice on good creek access or patterns that have been working recently. If you prefer to keep your secrets, I respect that too!
- 9' 6x leader(mono) - tie first fly(#16 BH PT, wolly bugger, or one of your choice) - tie 2 feet of 6x flouro tippet and attach #20 or smaller midge nymph or micro may fly; wd-40 is a popular dropper - add some weight above first fly - use a small indicator - look for riffles that empty into a pool
