Anyone know if it's too early to fish the South Fork of the American along highway 50? I'm looking for a place to bring my girlfriend (a beginner fly fisher) where the fish are tiny and numerous but there's some dry fly action before the spring runoff. We did well at Putah this past weekend but we'd like to camp and fly fish a bit futher up in the Sierras (even with some snow).
