Took a friend out to the creek yesterday, got out there about 12:30, or 1pm, and boy it was very slow up until about 3:30, then picked up a little. The creek was lower than I have ever seen it. What made my day was catching a little 9" rainbow, probably the most beautiful trout I have ever landed, it's colors were nothing less than spectacular. I landed another bow about 11" and lost a couple others. Was using a zebra midge and a little emerger pattern, my fly selection out there is always a struggle for me.
On Friday I went out early and met ChemDoc, he hooked me up with a yarn indicator (thanks doc), fishing was very slow, I think I landed one, probably 10". It still beat the heck out of working.
Thanks All
KHB
BTW I must have seen 5 or 6 bait and lure fisherman on the river this week-end, I did not say anything which I'm a little disapointed in myself for not, but being out there, no-one around you just don't want to cause any problems. Anyone had any run-ins with these guys?
Hey, I was out there Friday as well. Last minute decision to get a couple hours in. Fishing was slow for me too. Only saw one riser the whole time and got a few takes with a #18 beadhead PHTail.
Saw a guy with a Ramones T-shirt, was that you KHB? Good taste if it was.
I'm going out there today around noon. Will see what I can do with the low flows.
Ramones T shirt!! and a flyfisherman too,my kinda guy.I thought all flyfisherman listened to classical music! And I also thought I was the only ex-punkrocker that flyfished.....I admit kind of a weird combination!!!
