Fished the 850 cfs flows with MX19 and Dr. Chris below the 20 bridge. Man, what skinny water. Salmon on redds with their backs out of the water, riffles so shallow the boat got hung up twice, normal high water mark over 3 feet above the water level, pulling the boat back up rather than rowing to repeat a drift, DFG salmon carcass surveyors all over the place.

But the fish were there-20 in total, including a clipped steelhead. No great size, but lots of fun.

I see the flows are up to 950, but I bet the salmon are still getting a suntan.

The peak of the egg hatch on the Yuba was about one to two weeks ago. Apparently many of the salmon missed the turn and went straight up the Feather. The lower lower yuba below daguerre was blocked by gravel bars. Talked to Clay Hash and a few other top guides from Grass Valley and they said DFG believes the Yuba salmon are on the Feather. If you have seen the Feather it is completely full of salmon. If you were out there last weekend... well it was pretty darn good!! Fishing slowed considerably by Wed. They came up dropped their eggs and now you can see them floating downstream. Fishing dries seems to work... Hoppers and caddis
