Unfortunately Brian I am not interested in buying anymore rods as I am now into the next phase of my psychotic tendencies....rod building!!! How does that BVK cast a shooting head or outbound line??? Would be a nice coastal swinger if it does. TFO offers them in blanks and I was checking them out. Here's your chance to plug that bad boy and hopefully sell it. They sound like pretty nice rods. Helluva deal for someone looking for a new rod. Plug away please....
Its an awesome rod. Very versatile, accurate, lots of power, and has the back bone to handle some HUGE fish. Great surf rod, brackish water rod, steelhead nymph or swinging rod, awesome striper rod. I was using a Rio 350 grain striper line (26ft sink with intermediate running line). Shoots like a cannon, even if you are a beginner, it wont take long to cast 70ft consistantly, i was casting into the backing, line is 100ft long. It can handle a Rio 400 grain striper line with ease too. Rio 425gr Outbound Short for a floating line. One roll cast out, pick up, double haul and its gone 80-90ft. I casted big pole dancers, gurglers, gurglers with small clouser trailers on it and with very little effort. Light weight which is key if you are casting all day, and this rod is just that, LIGHT. Great beginner 8wt rod, or as a back up which was what I did.
