Just got back from a few hours on the river with my 10yr old daughter. Had just an awesome day. Weather was beautiful, fish were really hitting, and I think my daughter is going to be a natural... I brought her bait gear with us and we tossed it a bit, then I began to teach her some fly casting technics, it held here interest for a few, but I think she mostly loved running around in the river...Anyway I got a multitude of hits on a tiny rust colored midge, and hooked up with probably the largest fish I've hooked, however once it got close to me and saw my mug, she bounced....hard. She took a long run upstream, and then ran back at me, by the time I got the slack stripped back in, she turned around too fast... I actually hooked a nice one on my first flop cast out. It was a real blessing to be out there with my little one, that was the best part of the whole trip!
Hope to hear some more reports. Until then.....so long
Good job on the fish man. Yeah, i got that stuff last time out, stalked a fish that was rising a little to intensly. Its great to take the kids out man, that must have been great.
