The New Zealand mud snail

I've heard numerous ways to clean my boots and waders so as to not infect other rivers with the NZ mud snails.  But what is the best way?  The easiest way?    The most effective way?

I fished the Owens last year and our guide said to put them in the freezer overnight.


I'm leaving NM tomorrow heading for Napa. Probably fish Putah on Wednesday the 28th. Any updates or further advice is appreciated. I'll check here, and you can email me directly. Thanks for all the posts.

409 - seems to be the most recent information in killing the imported snail and helping to stop its spread.
