If this is a repeat forgive me...

Who is down for a steelhead fly swap?

I've been sitting at the vise and have a @#$% for steelhead flies!


I don't care if its swung, dead drifted, nymphed, indicated or dry flied... if its targeting steelhead, lets swapit.  With that said I've never run a swap so bare with me.

 I'll leave this open for a week and see who's down for swapping.  Respond to this post with the fly you'll tie.  When we get all participants we'll know the amount of flies we'll need to tie.  I'll PM everyone for there adresses and coordinate sending flies.

ps.  I have to think about what im gonna tie...

Im in too, just dont know what to tie, I have a few. Big S.H. egg stucking stone, S.H. caddis, S.H. wired egg sucking mini stone, UV loop wing midge. You guys make the call.

Alright! now we're talking.

MX- I had a feeling that fly would come up, I'll send you the recipe...

Brian- the S.H. wired egg sucking mini stone sounds interesting. How 'bout that?

I'm going to tie a Gummy Head flash back PT. I think it makes for a nice dropper in a nymph set up.

So... we have 2 maybe 3 people ;) we're getting there...

I'll do the ever successfull red copper john!!! I should add a note to this I have not hooked steelhead on the Trinity for well over a year. I have only been on it twice this season though but am told it works well   biggrinbiggrin... that said it did account for a very nice Brownie for me !!confuse

with or without rubber legs. sz 18 for me seems to work the best on the Trinity.

ANGRYINCHER and African Angler welcome. I'll be PM-ing everyone with my address in the next few days, so be be thinking about hitting the vice.
If there is anyone else who wants to join there is still a few days.
Also on a side note after some research, I found out the fly I'm going to tie actually has a name- Vitamin D. Actually mines a little different, but what the heck. Here is what I got so far:

1. Me- Vitamin D
2. Brian- black and brown wire egg sucking mini stone
3. Emerger- Cherry Bombs
4. B.O.W.B916- ???
5. ANGRYINCHER- Buggy Looking Stone
6. AfricanAngler- Red Copper John

Looks like a good line up!

No problemo papaoak, the more the merrier! Although I said in The PM that we'll try and wrap this up by the 1st week in March, I'm felxible and with everyones busy schedules lets shoot to finish tyin' by then and then get them in the mail 2nd week of March. Also if more people join you guys might want to tie up some extras it's looking like tying up 8 flies. (possible more if more join).
