My resolution for 2011 is to stop fly fishing for trout. I plan to fish for black bass, stripers, shad and steelhead this year. I don't know how long my resolution will last. Anyone know Lake Berryessa? I have heard it is really good in the spring. Send me a PM.
I have a few, which there are a few that are in the works as I type....
1) Guide Alaska starting this summer 2) Build a switch/spey bambo rod and a 7'6"ft 3wt bambo rod 3) Fish the North Umpqua 4) Catch atleast one Steelhead every month this yr 5) Complete Heritage Trout on my 3wt bambo rod with 7x tippet 6) More dry fly fishing 7) Become a better Spey Caster 8) Become a better fly fisherman 9) Find new rivers and streams to fish 10) Get the gf more involved with fly fishing

Fishing isnt about catching fish, its not about who caught the most, or who caught the biggest, its about the experience that you have on the water, and the life long bonds you make with others on the journey to becoming a better person inside.
An observation . . . your #1 and #10 are mutually exclusive!!! Disappearing to Alaska to guide for 3 months will not lead to the girlfriend getting into fly fishing more eagerly. I think it's one or the other!!!!!
My wish list:
1. Keep Alastair in the USA, falsify Visa if necessary. 2. See Giants win another World Series. 3. Fish the Truckee more often this summer. 4. Meet Shawn's new girlfriend.
I don't have a new girlfriend, I've just happen to have been teaching a very hot young lady to flyfish. Bob, Maybe I can invite her to a truckee run this year if it happens. I'm sure she would get a kick out of our cavemen like ways ! As for fishing resolutions I can't think of any, I just would like to do more high sierra pack trips.
Hey bob the good thing is that she wants me to go and guide up in alaska. So thats a good thing. The hardest is getting her to come out with me fishing. Oh well.

Shawn's new girlfriend? Uh oh, no more fishing for you. Or is she gonna join you in your sierra adventures?
Shawn . . . it's 2011, but that dog don't hunt. " She's not my girlfriend". I listen to all the BS stories from 11 employees, and I'm sure as hell not buying that one!
