Was at the creek the other day (Same day as 'Hobbs' was there as I also saw the "friendly note" on the car by the Deer sign.) and saw a fisherman yank a actively spawning fish of a redd right were Cold Creek comes in!! I won't go into details but it is attitudes like I encountered that are the problem. No matter how much information is out there some people just don't care!!
Obviously, as I think we have all found, this an exception and not the rule, and that Putah will recover to an extent that a small percentage of people who don't care will not severely impact the fishery and that it can remain open all year round.

Was it two older guys by chance in a white truck? I saw them too when I took a nature walk up to the dam. I tried talking to them also and it didnt go real well. Id like to hear your story if it was the same dudes. I think they are the minority as well because everyone else I have talked to has been very receptive and friendly.
Yeah, the guy at the deer sign was casting over obvious spawners too. I watched him from the road for a minute and thought about yelling but decided a note would be a better option. I guess I could have walked down there. Anyway, maybe my note made him think about it a little more. All you can do is try.

The creek is pretty much blown out!! I forgot my camera, but I can tell you the water is a brownish green with about six inches of visibility. I think we need to install a big mud filter at the mouth of Cold creek. It is a major cause of siltation!!! Any geologists, biologists or mud filter experts out there....
